My dear Kirtanananda Maharaja,

Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated June 6, 1973 and have noted the contents with great care and concern.

The deities may be immediately repaired and worshipped. Now we must take precaution as you have suggested. You may get some guns and some of the boys may be trained as ksatriyas. Such gun shots could have taken place long ago since we are challenging everybody. So we must be prepared to fight.

We cannot stop this movement. It is actually a fight against Maya. So Maya may also sometimes cause casualties in our camp. So, we must only thank Krsna and seriously dedicate everything for Him. So, you are Kirtanananda Maharaja, take pleasure in performing kirtana. That is our real weapon against Maya.

I am very pleased that the corner stone function was nicely done and successful. Continue the work enthusiastically. Thank you very much for the check for $200.

I am slowly regaining my health. It is now the rainy season here and accordingly the digestive process is slowed down. Therefore the rainy season means slow recovery.

I was just thinking of you and wondering why I hadn't heard from you in a long time. You'll be pleased to know that your assistant Srutakirti is here. He's feeling all right. This boy appears to be a very sincere devotee.

Upon your recommendation I am pleased to accept the devotees you have recommended for first and second initiation. You may chant on the beads of the first initiates and I am enclosing six sanctified sacred threads for the second initiates.

Play the tape of me reciting gayatri mantra into the right ear of the brahmanas. The names of the first initiates are: Jim Hessler--Krpacarya das; Jack Mower--Kasyapa das; Chuck St. Dennis--Cakradhari.

Hoping this meets you in good health.

Your ever well wisher,
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

P.S. On top of the towers on the temple, you should make Visnu's colus (or cakra) and a flag.

Sriman Hariprasada Badruka
Mahaboobgunj
Hyderabad, A.P.

My dear Badruka ji,

Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated 6/6/73.

My health is not yet recovered, but it is improving very slowly. So, I have been advised to stay here for at least four months, June, July, August and September. After that time it may be possible for me to go to Hyderabad and personally arrange both parts, preaching work and construction of the temple.

The difficulty is, unless we have legal possession of the land, how can we get municipal sanction for the construction. Under the circumstances, if Sriman Pulla Reddy donates the back portion of the land as promised and gives us legal right to construct the temple, we can then immediately get sanction from the municipality and begin construction.

I am sure that within one year the construction will be complete and the Deity moved to the proper temple. At that time, if Mr. Pulla Reddy thinks it proper, he can donate the front portion also. Otherwise we shall vacate that portion without any doubt. This much I can promise to Mr. Pulla Reddy. So, he may kindly gives us legal right for constructing the temple.

I'm sending copy of this letter to Tamala Krsna Goswami at Bombay. You can contact him and do the needful.

Hoping this meets you in good health.

Your ever well wisher,
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

My Dear Madhudvisa,

Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated May 29, 1973 and have noted the contents carefully.

So, everything is going on so nicely there. So many books are being distributed. There are good prospects for a new temple. You are going to introduce three rathas this year for Rathayatra. This is all very pleasing and inspiring to me. I would very much like to come there for Rathayatra, but now I am not in very good health.

It is the opinion of Tamala Krsna Maharaja, Bhavananda Maharaja, Jayapataka Maharaja and Jagadisa that it is best for me if I stay here for now so that I may get my health back. However, you may again invite me next year and, if Krsna wants, I will surely come there. Thank you very much.

Hoping this meets you in good health.

Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

My dear Hamsaduta,

Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated June 2, 1973 and I have noted the contents carefully.

I have not yet received any copies of the Swedish booklet. I am very, very pleased that you are continuously holding festivals.

Concerning the introduction to Bhagavad-gita, why not just translate the introduction from the English Bhagavad-gita? What is the difference? You may also add the names of these prominent German men that you have mentioned, that they have also appreciated this Bhagavad-gita. This may be added as a note at the end of the introduction.

This German Bhagavad gita is a very important achievement and the credit goes to you for your dedicated efforts. Thank you very much.

Hoping this meets you in good health.

Your ever well wisher,
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
